Collective Encuentro

Collective Encuentro, spear-headed by Faith Wilding (Sub-Rosa) and Dont Rhine (Ultra-Red), was a self-organized gathering of creative collectives/groups that practice within a larger social or political context. The interest was to bring together diverse groups from around the country for whom the social is the means, context and object of their work, and use the space for learning from how and why we do the work we do.  Participants came from areas such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Providence RI, New York, and Copenhagen.  Activities included self-generated workshops, discussions, brainstorming sessions and a trip to Bread and Puppet Theatre.
